An elegant hub for banking workflows
Citi Private Banking provides world-class financial services to the world’s most demanding clients.
Managing ultra-high net worth clients requires around-the-clock collaboration of individuals across roles and timezones. Citi noticed that their employees were spending far too much time bouncing from tool to tool to accomplish simple tasks, and came to us to design a centralized workstation that would make it so their employees could spend their time helping their customers rather than navigating software.
With a small team and limited timeline, we designed a compelling product vision that connected disparate systems and streamlined myriad private banking workflows.

Research & strategy
The Citi team had already identified a core pain point — data and workflows are fragmented across systems. However, they didn’t know which of those workflows are most important or how they are actually accomplished.
To better understand our users, we ran a foundational study with employees in various roles, and brought together stakeholders from around the organization for a workshop to align on our top design opportunities.
Design exploration
While the client already had a solution in mind, it would only address a small fraction of the pain points we identified. We pushed the team to think bigger, and explored many options that would address the core needs of their private banking employees while also unlocking new benefits for their customers.
A unified workstation
While aggregating data from disparate systems is valuable, we found that the real power of a banking workstation comes from experiences that provide a layer of transparency and intelligence previously unavailable to employees.
Our solution allows employees to seamlessly initiate and track workflows across systems, and surfaces intelligent insights to help them automate common tasks and recommend new strategies to their clients.
